This two-day workshop is designed to help leaders and project teams successfully implement change. The program focuses on the development of an "influence strategy" that will promote acceptance to change among employees and other key stakeholders. The focus is on practical hands-on experience emphasizing the "what" and the "how" of managing change. The tools included in this program have been used, tested and refined "in the trenches" over a 12 year period.
The program is highly interactive. Participants apply a variety of change tools to a live project or initiative that they are currently (or potentially) working on. Some of the topics covered include:
- Factors which influence change.
- Personal influence factors - what makes people want to join you.
- The Change Management Model - a checklist of steps that will enhance success.
- Building The Case For Change - communicating the "why' of a change that connects with people.
- Creating A Picture of Success - creating and communicating a vision that is motivating and compelling.
- Managing Resistance - understanding stakeholders needs and issues.
- Building a coalition of support - overcoming resistance and creating strategies of involvement.
- Ensuring "stickability" of the change - building in support for the change that endures after "the lights get turned on".
For people who will be actively using the tools as facilitators of change, there is an additional half-day option where they get a second "run through" with the tools. This Consolidation Exercise provides a means of seeing the tools in action a second time. In this segment, the participants run their own 2.5 hour meeting on a new project. They practice with all the tools in sequence and get a chance to "connect the dots" to refine their technique and understanding.
